Safe for eczema:
A resource with honest information and CREDIBLE sources
What is eczema?
According the Mayo Clinic, eczema (atopic dermatitis) “is a condition that causes dry, itchy and inflamed skin.”
Why did I start this website?
I’ve suffered from eczema for more than four decades and have quite literally tried everything under the sun. Through a lifetime of research, trial and error, and specialists, I finally have my eczema under control. Over the decades, friends’ children have been diagnosed with eczema and others developed hypersensitivity during chemotherapy and they’ve asked me for input regarding: products that have (and haven’t) worked for me, what specialists to consult, and drugs to use — with caution — if at all.
After years of complaining that search engine results were packed with ads for things that are terrible for eczema, I wanted to make a resource with honest information and reliable sources.
I will only cite credible sources and recommend products that I personally use and trust. Any product links through which I might earn a commission are simply an effort to offset/recoup some of the costs of web hosting, domain registration, etc.
This site contains trusted resources, my own personal experiences, observations and opinions.
eczema treatments: a guide
Topical
External treatments and products — from topical steroids, phototherapy (light therapy), ointments and lotions to serums, creams and cosmetics — we’ll discuss it all.
Nutrition, medication, and supplements
Whether prescription medications (e.g. oral steroids) or food we consume, the substances that we put in our bodies can change our skin health — for better or worse. When turning to oral steroids or immuno-suppressants, the short and long-term side effects should always be considered.
Environmental
From fabrics and detergents to the dust and pollen in the air, so many things in our environment can have a neutral or adverse effect on our skin (especially for those who have allergies and/or asthma).
Disclosure: On some product reviews, I have included affiliate links from which I earn a commission. The products that I list will always be exclusively for those that I personally use and have found helpful. I will never post a link to a product that has given me a negative reaction. It is my hope that the affiliate links will help pay for web hosting and domain registration to keep this site and its contents publicly available and ad-free (no ad impressions for products that I haven’t personally vetted). This website is for educational purposes only and does *not* substitute for professional medical advice.
